This week's award goes to one of my students, Sunjae.
I walk in to class at 10am with all but one of my students in their seats. The youngest, April, is outside talking/crying to one of the office ladies. Naturally, I ask what happened and the others said Sunjae did this, that or whatever. Here is teh conversation.
Me: So Sunjae, what happened?
SJ: Well teacher, let me tell you a story.
Me: (laughing uncontrollably)
SJ: Teacher!!! Why are you laaaaaaffing?
Me: Sunjae, when you want someone to believe what you say, you don't start with "Let me tell you a story". It makes it sound like a fairy tale. Anyway, go on.
SJ: We were outside and April pushed me and I had my hand like this (shows me a clenched fist at about face high) and she ran into my hand.
Me: So you're telling me April headbutted your fist!?
SJ: Ummmm, yes.
Here's to you Sunjae! You'd do Tony Lockett proud!

So, did you believe this???? I bet some rugby players could make a good claim for "he ran into my outstretched arm..."
