I had a fairly interesting weekend. I watched The Happening on Friday at Express Bus Terminal. I enjoyed it, but my expectations were not very high as I had read an interview in which M. Night Shyamalan says people will be very pleased with his B-grade movie. The gist; people start committing suicide because of a neurotoxin that shuts of their self-preservation switches in their brain. Now, I would think if that were true people would not realise how dangerous actions could kill them rather than actively try to commit suicide. Still, rather good film.
On Saturday we found this cocktail truck in Gangnam. It was one of those blue trucks that cruise around selling fruit/vegetables/electronics/underwear but this one was all set up for a mobile cocktail party. No way this would be possible back home. So much for helping out young entrepreneurs.
Later on, we went to Monkey Beach in Apgujeong. It's a nice place up until 1:30am then everything goes pear-shaped. As expected actually, since they give you whatever drink you order in a bucket.
I was late for the KESS meeting today. I hate being late. Lateness is rude.
Next weekend is the World Cup Qualifier for North Korea and South Korea. I wonder if the northern team will have any supporters in Seoul.
And lastly, to my colleagues in Chicago, this was our target language for 6-2:
How do you like your steak?
Well done, please.
(Medium rare is better actually. The more they cook the meat, the older the meat can be without the diner noticing)
