Today was Liberation Day here in Korea. It commemorates the liberation from Japan after the second world war. This holiday is observed in North Korea as well, but is known as 조국해방의 날 Jogukhaebang i nal.
Strangely enough, neither North nor South Korea were truly liberated after the war as they were occupied by Soviet and American forces respectively.
I spent the day looking for Hangeul stickers to put on my keyboard so I can type in Korean, though I failed since I was feeling the effects of too much soju and Daepo (a type of soju which has good commercials but a poor taste) from the night before.
